A veteran journalist and former Chief Press Secretary to former military Governor of old Imo state, Chike Tasie is dead.
Tasie who hailed from Umuobiala community in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia state died at the age of 74 years.
Late Tasie also served as Chief Press Secretary to Commander Anthony Oguguo as Military Governor of Imo State.
Upon the creation of Abia State in 1991, Tasie was appointed the Chief Press Secretary to Group Captain Frank Ajobena, the first Military Administrator of the South Eastern State.
The deceased’s journalist also holds the singular distinction of serving 3 different Governors as Chief Press Secretary.
This was made known in a statement on Friday by Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
However, while mourning the deceased, Ememanka expressed sadness over the unfortunate death of Chike Tasie, who he also described as thorough-bred Journalist with the News Agency of Nigeria before his appointment in the old imo state.
The governor’s spokesman who recalled that after deceased’s service as Chief Press Secretary here, he joined the State Civil Service, and retired as State Director of Information, and further described Late Chike Tasie, as a jolly good fellow
Ememanka partly stated, said, “A jolly good fellow, he visited me and shared a lot of insights with me.
“I feel a deep sense of the personal loss at his death.
“,Ogam, you served well. May God accept your soul. Our condolences to the family.
“All past CPS are by this notice, invited to be part of the burial”.
