A former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof. Festus Iyayi, is dead.
Iyayi reportedly died in an auto crash on Tuesday in Lokoja, Kogi State.
He was said to be on his way to Kano in Kano State where the National Executive Committee of ASUU is scheduled to meet on the ongoing impasse between the union and the Federal Government.
The NEC is to consider suspending the strike or not.
Iyayi was a part of the ASUU delegation that met with the Federal Government team headed by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja last week Monday.
