The League Bloggers Awards on Thursday announced Oghenekaro Etebo and Solomon Ogbeide, both of Warri Wolves, as its Player and Manager for the month of April respectively.
Etebo and Ogbeide got top marks from the LBA panel for their impressive outing in April’s games of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Wolves attacking winger, Etebo, brushed aside the challenge of Isah Akor (Heartland), Dele Olorundare (Sunshine Stars), David Tyavkase (Heartland), Godfrey Oboabona (Sunshine Stars), Musa Najare (Warri Wolves) and Stephen Eze (Lobi Stars) to emerge LBA Player for April.
Etebo’s hat-trick against El-Kanemi Warriors, the first and only this term in the NPFL, as well as his strike at Kaduna United and barnstorming outing against Kwara United on Match Day Nine, put him ahead of other contenders for the player’s award.
Ogbeide clinched the manager’s award on the back of guiding Warri Wolves to an unbeaten streak in four games in April.
Only ABS Head Coach, Kabiru Sulaiman Dogo, came close to winning the manager’s award but had his chances cut down on Match Day Six when his team lost 0-1 to Wikki Tourists.
Coincidentally, Ogbeide also won the LBA Manager for April in 2012.
