Sergio Aguero surpassed Thierry Henry’s Premier League goal record with a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 6-1 win over Aston Villa.
Riyad Mahrez, Aguero and Gabriel Jesus were on target in a first-half blitz at Villa Park, before the Argentine netted his 176th and 177th goals after the break.
Arsenal legend Henry managed 175 top-flight goals in an eight-year spell in north London.
Anwar El Ghazi netted an injury-time penalty for Aston Villa after Trezeguet was tripped by Ilkay Gundogan.
The result moved Man City up to second place in the Premier League table after Leicester were beaten at home by Southampton on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Watford’s emphatic 3-0 win at Bournemouth saw Aston Villa drop into the relegation zone.
