One Onyinye Vivian Obi has petitioned the office of the Inspector General Police, Mohammed Adamu, concerning a major threat to her life by her husband, Petrus Obi, and his mistress, Chibota Afam Edozie.
In her petition, Obi stated that she and her children now live in fear as her husband’s mistress has threatened her life directly several times.
According to Obi, when she reported the matter to the Women Aid Collective, a pro-women Civil Society Organisation, based in Enugu, her husband asked her for a divorce.
Her petition reads: “My name is Mrs. Onyinye Obi Vivian and I live at the above stated address in Enugu. (Onugu Ibagwa Ababkpa Nike Enugu, Enugu State. I am a Nigerian citizen and hail from Orlu in Imo State.
“I am constrained to officially petition your office about a major threat to my life, the lives of my children and perhaps other innocent people.
“I desire your urgent intervention to save me from my husband and his mistress. For clarity purposes my husband’s name is Mr. Petrus Obi, a journalist with an online platform and we both have four children, while his mistress, is also a journalist, a married woman with four children, Mrs. Chibota Afam Edozie. She works with National Light Newspaper published by the Anambra State Newspaper publishing company in Awka.
“For the past six years Chibota Edozie has made my house a living hell for me and my children. Not only has she effectively taken my husband away from his once happy wife and children, the woman has taken her antics to another level with several direct threats to terminate my life and those of my children.
“At several times, she confronted me directly that no matter what I do, nothing will separate her from my husband Petrus.
“She also warned me to stay clear of her affairs with my husband or face the consequences which she directly said will be my death.
“Apart from physical threats, Chibota has also adopted several diabolical ways to ensure that I quickly breath my last. What is my offence? I asked her to let my family be.
“Their affair is a public knowledge in Enugu and environs.
“It has become so painful that for the past two and half years, I have not had my marital bliss with my husband (he has not had any canal knowledge of me) to the extent that recently when I reported the matter to the Women Aid Collective, (WACOL), a pro-women Civil Society Organisation, based in Enugu, to my surprise, my husband asked for divorce, making it clear that himself and Chidota, another man’s wife had become inseparable.
“Much as I am not against his desire, I am appealing to you sir to use your good offices to ensure my safety and the safety of my children.
“We now live in fear. I am also convinced that by the time this petition goes public; they might eventually kill or maim me. Please sir you need to save our souls.
“It may interest you to know that the duo have equally engaged in sustained battle against innocent people. I am in the know that both my husband and his mistress, Chidota, have engaged the services of several a witch-doctors and prophets to either kill one Mr. Chris Isiguzo, the present President of Nigerian union of Journalists or better still disgrace him out of office.
“They have conspired to propagate several baseless accusations against him including Court actions and petitions before anti-graft agencies.
”All these have one objective: to paint him in bad colours before right thinking members of the society.
“I plead with you sir to quickly intervene and by so doing save several innocent people from either been diabolically killed, maimed or disgraced.
“What initially started as politics within their union has long snowballed into bitter war that if care is not taken will degenerate to an unredeemable level.
“Your urgent intervention has become highly necessary.
“For official records, the contact of my husband is 08035494795.
“That of his mistress Mrs. Chidota Afam Edozie, a supposed wife of a retired journalist, Mr Afam Edozie is 08037864203.
“I’ll be very much disposed to providing further details concerning this petition.
“Thanks as I look forward to your timely intervention sir.”
