The Enugu State Government says it is putting finish touches to its preparations to host the Nigeria Professional Football League Super-4 tournament in Enugu.
The state’s Commissioner for Sports, Charles Ndukwe, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Thursday that the government was also working to ensure a hitch-free and successful hosting of the top clubs in the country.
He said that the ministry was ensuring that every fitting and lightening system was in perfect condition at the stadium; especially the flood light and the generating sets.
Ndukwe said: “Apart from the technical finishing and update we are ensuring at the stadium; we are also looking at the possibility of putting some local entertainment and flavour for the relaxation of the teeming football fans.
“We have arranged and invited special guests, including our amiable and sports loving governor, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as other governors of the South-East and beyond.
“We are also inviting legendary football stars, especially those in ex-Rangers Club to add personality and spectacle to the tournament as well.”
According to Ndukwe, the local ad-hoc committee for the tournament is daily tinkering on new ideas to add colour and lasting memories to the tournament.
