Parts of Enugu, the Enugu State capital, were grounded on Wednesday following the return of the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka.
The Eagle Online recalls that suspended Father Mbaka travelled to the United States of America last year November.
This was on the order of the Bishop, Enugu Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Calistus Onaga, mandating him to go for a retreat outside the state.
The order came on the heels of his suspension in July 2022 for acts said to be unbecoming of a priest.
In November, he shared a photograph of his arrival at Saint Andrew’s Abbey Monastery in Los Angeles, Valyermo, United States of America for the retreat.
On his return to the state through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu in the early hours of Wednesday, Father Mbaka was received by a mammoth crowd.
After disembarking from the aircraft, his vehicle, which conveyed him to the Adoration Ground in Umuchigbo, Iji-Nike, was accompanied by a huge crowd, which led to heavy traffic gridlock along the old Emene-Abakaliki Road.
The crowd rendered several songs of praise to God to welcome him back.
