He has scored 13 goals in 10 Championship games since the turn of the year but that goal-scoring form isn’t enough for Odion Ighalo to have won either the January or February Championship player of the month award.
The Nigerian striker was nominated in successive months but missed out on the January honour to Middlesbrough’s Lee Tomlin, while February’s award was given to Nottingham Forest midfielder, Henri Lansbury.
Ighalo struck six goals in five games last month, including winners against Blackburn Rovers and Brentford.
Hornets boss, Slavisa Jokanovic, was shortlisted for the February manager of the month award but that has been won by Norwich City boss, Alex Neil, who guided the Canaries to five successive victories during February.
