The Osun State Judicial Panel of Inquiry constituted to look into cases of alleged police brutality, human rights violations and extrajudicial killings by operatives of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state, has announced that it will begin sitting on Thursday.
The Secretary of the Panel, Kemi Bello, said this in a statement on Monday.
Bello said the sitting would hold at the Council of Oba’s Chambers, Finance Building, State Secretariat, Abere between 10am and 4pm, adding that subsequently the Panel will sit on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
She stated that the Panel would be receiving testimonies and evidence from victims of police brutality in the state and requested members of the public to submit memoranda.
The Panel also directed that memoranda should be submitted to the Secretary at the Department of Public Prosecutions, Ministry of Justice, State Secretariat, Abere or through e-mail to: osunjudicialpanelofinquiry@gmail.com.
