The Ekiti State Government has declared Friday half working day to enable workers travel to their various local governments to enable them cast their votes in Saturday’s election.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Idowu Adelusi, on Friday and aired on the state-owned electronic medium, the government said civil servants would close for duties by 12pm to enable them travel on time.
Also, most banks in the state have expressed decision to close to customers by 1pm, apparently to forestall unforeseen circumstances.
While some of the banks pasted the notice on their doors to alert customers about the development, First Bank of Nigeria made its announcement on Progress FM 10.5.
Our correspondent observed a large turnout of customers at the banks to withdraw money, apparently to beat the deadline.
It was also observed that people besieged the markets to procure food items in readiness for the restriction of movement on Saturday.
