The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has threatened to release video clips of how his house was invaded by alleged assassins .
Ekweremadu’s residence was invaded by alleged assassins on Tuesday.
However, in statement in the media, the police said the issue was mere case of burglary.
But Ekweremadu in his reaction to the statement during plenary on Wednesday, said he may be forced to actualize his threat to release the video clip if the Police failed to withdraw its claim that what happened in his house was a mere case of burglary.
Earlier, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe had raised a point of order over the statement credited to the Nigerian Police.
Abaribe asked the Senate to condemn the hasty conclusion by the Police that the invasion of Ekweremadu’s residence was a mere burglary case.
Thereafter, the Senate resolved to ask the Police to do a thorough investigation of the alleged assassination attempt on Ekweremadu, his wife and son in the early hours of Tuesday.
The upper chamber said the conclusion that the incident was a case of burglary appeared to be hasty.
