The Ekti State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Jide Awe, a member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Kehinde Boluwade, and others charged to court for various murder cases during the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi may soon re-appear before the court as the state government has re-opened the murder cases against them.
Owoseni Ajayi, the Special Assistant on Legal Matters to the state Governor, Ayo Fayose, who was screened and approved as commissioner, disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.
Similarly, unidentified persons burgled Owoseni’s office at the Ministry of Justice in the state secretariat, Ado-Ekiti in the early hours of Monday.
Owoseni, the Attorney General and Justice Commissioner designate, said the state government had revoked the noelle prosecui earlier entered in the cases by the former administration of Fayemi.
It would be recalled that Awe and three others were dragged to court for the murder of Ayo Jeje and Juliana Adewumi in Erijiyan-Ekiti on March 31, 2013.
Also, Boluwade and four others were also charged to court for the murder of Foluso Ogundare in Emure-Ekiti on November 3, 2013.
Only last week, Sefiu Owonifari and Awolope Busuyi were remanded in prison custody by Magistrate Modupe Afeniforo over the Erijiyan-Ekiti case.
Awe was last year granted administrative bail before the Fayemi administration filed a notice to discontinue the case.
According to Ajayi, the state had issued a bench warrant for the arrest of those facing the murder charges.
He said: “I would not know what those who burgled my office are looking for, but they ransacked everywhere and scattered the place.
“We are yet to ascertain if any document was removed or not because we want the police to take inventory of everything and do their job.”
Ajayi gave the assurance that justice would be done in the cases.
