The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of the celebration of Eid-el-Maolud even as he advocated that the virtues of humility, sacrifice and sharing as demonstrated by the life and times of the Holy Prophet Mohammed should be imbibed by all.
According to the governor, the virtues of service and exemplary leadership as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet should guide both leaders and the led on the need to give their all in the overall interest of the society.
While wishing all Muslims a happy Maolud Nabiyy celebration, Governor Fashola noted that the challenges facing the nation would better be confronted if such qualities were imbibed.
While thanking the various communities in Lagos State for their continued peaceful mutual co-existence, tolerance and support for their government, Fashola urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s birth to reflect on the essential lessons of his life and to pray for the continued well being of the state and the nation in general, even as the forthcoming general elections draw nearer.
