The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade 111, has urged Nigerians to embrace love, togetherness and peaceful co-existence as the world celebrates the 2018 Eid-el Kabir.
The monarch, while advising government at all levels to live up to expectations, called on the people to be patriotic in their activities.
Oba Oyewumi commended the traditional institution for promoting and sustaining peace across the country, adding that the heterogeneous nature of the country should be seen as a blessing.
In his sallah message signed by his Private Secretary, Toyin Ajamu, Oba Oyewumi said: “This is another opportunity to appreciate Allah as always, for giving us the grace to witness yet another Eid-el Kabir.
“Let me congratulate the Muslim Ummah on this auspicious celebration.
“We should use this period to pray for the country and its leaders.
“Nigeria is a diverse country and as such we should continue to live as a united and indivisible nation.
“Government must make the welfare of the people a top priority,
“Collectively, we can build a prosperous nation.”
The paramount ruler wished Muslims a rewarding Eid-el Kabir celebration.
