The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has started dusting the file of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on the alleged mismanagement of N1.3 billion on Integrated Poultry Project/Biological Concept.
Fayose had been discharged and acquitted by the Federal High Court in the alleged N1.3 billion poultry project.
The EFCC filed the fraud case against the governor in 2005.
Shortly after the results of the governorship election held on Saturday in Ekiti state was announced, the EFCC took to its Twitter handle to announce it was returning to the case.
Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress won the election, defeating Fayose’s preferred candidate and Deputy Governor, who flew the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Kolapo Olusola.
Fayose is thus set to leave office.
The EFCC on its Twitter handle said: “The parri is over; The cloak of immunity torn apart, and the staff broken. #Ekiti Integrated Poultry Project/Biological Concepts Limited N1.3bn fraud case file dusted off the shelves. See you soon.”
