The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia, after the was discharged and acquitted by a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.
The Lagos High Court, presided over by Justice Hakeem Oshodi, had discharged and acquitted Ajumogobia and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Godwin Obla, of corruption charges filed against them at about 12 noon, but the former Judge was picked up within the court premises at about 2pm.
Ajumogobia, who had to dash back into the court when she was informed that operatives of the EFCC were waiting for her within the premises, eventually gave herself up when it was obvious there was no escaped route.
She was taken away from the premises of the court in a white truck marked: Abuja, BWR 63780.
