The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Lokoja, Kogi.

This is contained in a statement signed by the agency’s Spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren and made available to newsmen Monday in Ilorin, the capital city.

He said that the suspects were smoked out of their hideouts by the eagle-eyed operatives of the EFCC during the weekend, following credible intelligence on their fraudulent activities.

Uwujaren said that the suspects included a serving Corps member in the state, Adamu Shuaibu, and 18 others.

“The remaining suspects are Achimugu Nelson Ojonoka, Victor Atsumbe, Akoh Grace Samuel, Usman Abubakar Sadiq, Jacob Emmanuel, Solomon John, Christian Oyakhilome, Adesanya Adeolu Tosin, Uloko George Ojonugwa and Timothy Eleojo Moses.

“Others are Negedu Joseph Onuchei, Usman Tenimu, Lukman Musa, Samuel Atadoga, Daniel Atekojo James, Abdulrazaq Iko-ojo Ahnod, Olarewaju John Olumide and Ademola Adegoke Daniel,” he said.

The spokesperson said that upon arrest, a Lexus car, huge sum of money suspected to be proceeds of illegal activities, different brands of cell phones, Laptops and other incriminating materials were recovered from the suspects.

He, however, said that the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of on-going investigation.
