Education Minister hails FGC Orozo-Abuja PTA over donation of clinic

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, has commended parents and guardians of the students of Federal Government Science College (Technical), Orozo-Abuja over what he described as their supportive roles towards ongoing government’s efforts on secondary education.
Adamu, who expressed appreciation to the Parents-Teachers-Association chapter of the college over the construction and installation of equipments of a 20-bed clinic at the school premises, urged parents with wards in other public secondary schools across the country to emulate the association.
Represented by Ngozi Anakwe, a top Ministry of Education official, at the handing-over ceremony, the minister noted that the clinic would alleviate whatever emergency health cases the college might be facing.
According to him: “I’m satisfied with the quality of the job done here on this clinic and I strongly believe it will solve series of emergency medical cases among the students.
“This is a modern clinic with state-of-the-art equipments, a gesture to be emulated by PTA in other FGCs and public colleges.
“I also wish to commend other ongoing projects, which include the perimeter fencing of the college, water project etc.”
In a similar vein, the North/Central Zonal Coordinator of National Association of Parents Teachers Association of Federal Government Colleges, Ehis Ogbeide, commended the gesture and praised the current leadership of the association led by Peter Oriaran for not doing badly since assumption of office
Describing the clinic like a mini health-center, Ogbeide said: “I don’t want to sound too loud, but the project looks like a mini health-center the type students in advanced countries enjoy.
“It has other units for peculiar medical cases.
“I think the association did very well and they deserve commendation under the current leadership.
“FGC Orozo is special to us at the association among other 24 colleges in the North/Central zone and 104 nationwide where NAPTEFEGC oversees PTA activities.
“I also urge parents to support the EXCO and seek information over anything that is not clear to them so as to achieve more results.”
Also speaking on behalf of the parents, Oriaran thanked principal of the college, Obiageli Onwekaba, and other staff for their harmonious relationship with parents in their efforts geared towards making academic life easier for the students.
