The Chairman, Edo Sports Commission, Godwin Dudu-Orumen, on Friday gave an assurance that the state would host the most colourful and rewarding National Sports Festival scheduled for March 2020.
Dudu-Orumen gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Benin.
He said that a machinery for delivering an exciting and novel sports festival in the country had already been put in place.
He said: “The most knowledgeable around the country have been invited to be part of the Local Organising Committee and the sub-committees.
“With a firm message to ensure that we deliver a colourful, rewarding and very exciting festival.
“Technically we are doing our best in terms of the preparations to ensure that we play by the rules.
“The marching order from Gov. Godwin Obaseki is very clear. That is why the Deputy Governor, Mr Philip Shaibu, is the Chairman of the LOC.
“He is a sports man and a former player of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin.’’
The chairman assured sports lovers to expect a robust and successful edition of the competition.
