High Courts in Edo would proceed on vacation from July 30 and resume September 22.
The Chief Judge, Justice Esohe Ikponmwen, in a statement on Monday in Benin, said that full judicial activities would commence on September 25.
She noted that the directive was in compliance with the provisions of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rule 2012.
Ikponmwen said: “During the annual vacation, one vocation judge shall sit in Benin Judicial Division, to entertain only urgent civil, revenue and criminal matters.
“The vacation judge shall be Hon. Justice Morrison Ighodalo of the High Court of Justice.”
Ikponmwen said that matters to be handled by the vacation judge shall be fresh matters of utmost urgency.
