The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the release of results of the Edo State governorship election.
The election was held on Wednesday.
From the results released so far from six local government areas, the candidates of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, are the frontrunners.
From the outcome of the six local government areas, the APC has won four, though with very close margins.
The PDP won in Esan North East and Esan South-East Local Government Areas, while the APC took Igueben, Egor, Owan West and Uhunmwode Local Government Areas.
