The arrival of Denmark-based winger, Edafe Egbedi, at the Flying Eagles training camp in Elfershausen, Germany on Wednesday completed the 30-man provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
Samm Audu, the Team’s Media Officer, made this disclosure in a statement released in Abuja.
The statement said Egbedi joined the squad the same day Rangers International FC of Enugu striker, Alhaji Gero; Olympiakos FC of Greece attacking midfielder, Michael Olaitan; and Daddy Moses joined the team.
According to the statement, Moses has reportedly signed a contract with Ajax Amsterdam FC from an academy in Nigeria.
It said the 30-man squad was expected to feature at this year’s Toulon International Football Tournament, where they were drawn against defending champions, Mexico, Portugal, Brazil and Belgium.
The News Agency Nigeria reports that the final 21-man squad is expected to be named latest June 11.
The Nigeria U-20 team is drawn in Group B alongside Portugal, South Korea and Cuba.
NAN reports that the team will set out for Turkey from Germany on June 17 and will play their first match on June 21 against Portugal in Kayseri.
