The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has urged the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria to consolidate on their victory in their first match at the World Cup and make Nigeria proud in their encounter with the Ecuadorian side.
The Minister while expressing confidence in the team’s ability to perform well, said: “I urge the Golden Eaglets to give their heart and soul to the game. It is a crucial encounter with Ecuador no doubt, but Nigerians are confident in their skills and determination. They must come to the game with a sense of purpose and professionalism and the kind of optimum performance and precision football that saw them overcome the onslaught of the Hungarians.
“The Nigerian can do spirit again comes on display and the brilliance of our youth football is there for the world to see.”
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will on Tuesday take on Ecuador in their second match of the Under-17 FIFA World Cup.
