The 31-year-old Nigerian man who was quarantined in Hong Kong after showing symptoms of the Ebola virus, has tested negative.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, the Nigerian arrived in Hong Kong on August 7 and came down with diarrhoea and fever, which are two symptoms of the Ebola Virus Disease.
However, the Nigerian, who was quarantined in a hospital immediately, was reported on Sunday to have tested negative to the fast killing virus.
The southern Chinese city government said in a statement on Sunday that the Nigerian tested negative for Ebola virus upon preliminary laboratory testing.
The statement said in the past one month, he had no contact history with sick persons or animals and did not visit health-care facilities.
He is said to be currently in stable condition.
The Nigerian was said to have travelled from Lagos via Dubai on Thursday to arrive in Hong Kong.
