The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on Christians to renew their hope in God as they celebrate Easter.
The Governor made the call in a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mazi Enyinnaya Appolos.
Ikpeazu also advised Christians to make necessary sacrifices to ensure peace and development of Abia State and Nigeria.
He said: “We owe it to God to renew our hope in Him as the one who can lead us to greater heights. Without God we can do nothing but with renewed hope in God there is nothing we cannot achieve as a people.
“As Christians, we should not only celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ, we should also make our time to reflect on our relationship with people, and make necessary sacrifices to both our neighbors and our community.”
The Governor also called on Christians to continue to pray for those in authority so that God can give them wisdom to lead the people in the fear of the Lord and follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ in making sacrifices for the good of others.
