The Super Eagles pocketed their $10,000 winning bonus for the victory over Bosnia.
A top official of the nation’s soccer governing body, the Nigeria Football Federation, said the bonus was paid immediately as a way of motivating the players to go all out in the game against Argentina.
The Chairman of the soccer federation’s Media Committee, Emeka Inyama, disclosed that the NFF is doing all it can to ensure nothing derails the Super Eagles World Cup campaign.
Inyama said: “We have paid the players and the technical crew their bonus and conveyed to them the good will message from Mr. President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
“We are doing everything to motivate the boys ahead of the game against Argentina.
“We did a lot to boost their morale after the draw against Iran and we are happy we got the result we needed against Bosnia.
“We are going to do the same as we prepare to face Argentina.”
Inyama was full of praise for the players for rising to the occasion against Bosnia when many people had written them off after the not too impressive start against Iran.
“The match against Argentina is crucial and we hope the boys will rise to the occasion again,” he said.
