Operatives of the Department of State Services have shot at those partaking in the #FreeSowore protest close to its headquarters in Abuja.
According to available information, those protesting were seeking the release of Sowore, the Convener of #RevolutionNew, despite meeting the bail conditions imposed by the court.
The DSS had over the weekend in a statement by its spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanaya, said Sowore, the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, was still being held because no one had come for him.
On Monday, a team led by the Editor-in-Chief of PREMIUM TIMES, showed up at the DSS Headquarters to get Sowore on bail, but the Service failed to release him.
While protesting on Tuesday, the operatives of the DSS used live ammunition to disperse those against the continued holding of Sowore.
The Convener of the protest, Deji Adeyanju, was addressing the media when operatives of the DSS in several trucks arrived to disperse them forcefully.
Spray pepper was used alongside the gunshots.
