The alleged mastermind of the Nyanya, Abuja bomb blast, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, has questioned his continued detention by the Department of State Services.
Ogwuche told the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that since the charges against him had been struck out by the court, there was no basis for his further detention.
He then asked the court for a compensation of N100 million for his “unlawful arrest and detention without trial”.
Ogwuche’s counsel, Ahmed Raji (SAN), brought the application pursuant to Order 2, Rule (1),(2),(3) of the Fundamental Enforcement Procedure rule and Sections 34,35,36,37 and 42 of the 1999 Constitution seeking for the enforcement of his client’s fundamental human rights.
Joined as defendants are the DSS and the Attorney General of the Federation AGF.
However, the court struck out AGF’s name on the request of the applicant.
