It was triumphant return to European football for Didier Drogba as he scored for Galatasaray of Turkey within five minutes of coming off the bench.
Drogba’s acrobatic header inspired the Turkish side 2-1 away victory at Akihsat.
The Ivory Coast striker also was actively involved in the second goal.
It is recalled that it took the intervention of the world soccer ruling body, FIFA, before the former Chelsea talisman could be eligible to play for his new club, following protest by his former Chinese team.
Drogba recently penned a one and half year deal at Galatasaray.
