The driver of a Range Rover Jeep, Akin Akinyemi, has been arrested by the police in Lagos State for crushing mother and child to death.
Akinyemi reportedly ran into mother and child at Jakande First Gate Bus Stop, Victoria Island-Epe Expressway.
Though the two victims did not die on the spot from the injuries they sustained, they later died on their way to the hospital.
The vehicle had plate registration number LSR 261 AE.
According to Police spokesman, Jaiyeoba Joseph: “The victims were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately died on the way.
“The corpses of the deceased have been taken to the Isolo General Hospital.
“The Ilasan Division is currently investigating the accident.”
In another development, the Lagos State Police Command has declared wanted a female student cult member for shooting one of her colleagues.
Simply identified as Sheilla, homicide detectives have declared her wanted for the crime that was committed in Awori-Ijanikin area of the state.
Sheilla was reported to have shot one Rotimi Giwa on January 28, 2012.
Two suspected members of the cult – Momiru Nafiu and Ezekiel Samuel – have since been arrested by the police.
The State Criminal Investigation department of the Lagos State Police Command, located at Panti, Yaba, is handling the case.
