Abdulazeez Abdulrahman, a driver charged with reckless driving and causing injury to a pedestrian, was on Monday arraigned at an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The defendant, 25, who resides at No. 11, Oke Ado St., Molete Ibadan, was brought before the court on three-count charge of alleged reckless driving, driving without a valid license and causing injury to another.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Jimah Iseghede, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 18 at White Sand area of Orile Iganmu along Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
He alleged that the defendant, a driver in charge of an Iveco Truck with registration number FKJ 746 XX, had driven in a reckless manner, thereby causing injury to a pedestrian, Andason Nwabueze.
The alleged offences contravene Sections 19, 22 and 26 of the Lagos State Road Traffic Laws, 2015.
The Magistrate, F.O. Ikobayo admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She has adjourned the case until April 8 for mention.
