A 24-year-old domestic servant, Amarachi Onyemaizu, who allegedly stole property worth N9.9 million from her employer, was on Friday arraigned before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Onyemaizu was docked on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kehinde Omisakin, said the accused committed the offences on December 4, 2018 at 4, Ikoyi Crescent, Ikoyi.
The prosecutor alleged that the accused stole jewelries and other valuables belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Gupta, her employers, valued at N9.9 million.
Omisakin said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, O.A. Komolafe, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N5 million with two sureties each in like sum.
Komolafe adjourned the case until February 5 for mention.
