The Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Medical Centre, Gusau has pledged to provide free medical services for the orphanage home in the state capital.
The Chairman of the association in the state, Dr. Adesunyo Adebayo, said this on Monday in Gusau during a courtesy visit to the orphanage home.
Adebayo said the visit was part of the 9th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference activities that held between December 13 and 18 2017.
He said: “The partnership is part of the resolution of the Ninth Annual General Meeting in an effort to extend our humanitarian services to the less privilege ones among the society.
“Our concern is to expand our relationship with Orphans beyond annual visit during the AGM by rendering them free medical services and other advice that can improve the quality of their lives.
“The said the technical committee set-up will soon meet with management to come up with their way to handle the partnership.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that during the visit, the association donated household items which included rice, macaroni, cooking oil, detergent, washing soap, bathing soap, toilet paper and mosquitoes to the orphans.
Members of the association also interacted with the orphans and advised them to remain good people.
Responding, the state Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Balkisu Bungudu, commended the association over the gesture and urged them to sustain it.
Bungudu also promised to give them continuous support and cooperation of all kind toward achieving success in partnership.
