The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira, has praised the agricultural innovation and initiative of the Kebbi State Government.
Elder Kisira stated this on Monday in Birnin Kebbi while speaking with newsmen shortly after inspecting the State’s Rice Plantation and Labana Rice Mills alongside his Kogi State counterpart, Elder Simon Achuba.
The Kwara State Deputy Governor commended the idea, adding that such effort was needed as a way to diversify the Nation’s economy from oil.
He called on other States to key into the initiative, stressing that Kwara State was also making wave with great agricultural drive.
Elder Kisira commended the leadership of the Kebbi State Government on its relationship with Lagos State, reiterating the determination of the State Government to partner, especially in making rice available for the people.
The Deputy Governor praised his Kebbi State counterpart in the building of customized vehicle, adding that such idea would spur the younger generation.
Also speaking, Achuba described the effort as a drive in the right direction, noting that agriculture was the alternative to diversify the economy.
Elder Achuba urged the Kebbi State Government to establish a modern technical workshop to encourage and develop the interest of the coming generation.
Earlier, the Kebbi State Deputy Governor, retired Colonel Samaila Dabai, who conducted them round the farm and the Rice Mills reiterated the determination of the State Government to improve its agricultural drive and other sectors.
The Deputy Governors were in Kebbi State for the two-day Progressives Governors’ Forum meeting.
