All is set for the coronation of Sir Nelson Uzoma Obasi as the traditional ruler of Dim-na Nume, Isu in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State on December 26, 2016.
Obasi ascends the throne of his ancestors as Dim The Second of Dim-na Nume, Isu.
Sir Obasi is a graduate of the Michael Okpara University, Umudike and retired from the Nigeria Prisons Service as an Assistant Controller of Prisons.
He is also an old boy of Priscilla Memorial Grammar School, Oguta.
A combatant during the Civil War, the Eze-elect is a keen sportsman. Dim-Na-Nume, Isu occupies a prominent position in Igbo history having hosted Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu in the last days of the crisis.
Isu Grammar School served as Biafra Army Headquarters.
One of the town’s prominent refugees was Justice Anthony Aniagolu.
It is also the birthplace of Dr. Nathaniel Obasi, the first Igbo Dental Surgeon.
Isu is the ancestral home of the Ibusa people of Delta State. The Eze-elect steps into the shoes of late Eze Josiah Chikezie Ohiaeri, the father of Dr. Benjy Ohiaeri, the Chief Medical Director of First Consultant Hospital, Obalende, Lagos.
His grandfather, Obasi Onukwuire, was the First Warrant Chief of Dim-na-Nume, Isu.
