Barely three days after he was sworn in, the Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Chuks Oseme, has swung into wealth and employment creation strategy.
The council boss who said his intervention strategy will combine time-tested and trusted quick-win schemes and long-term plans for job/wealth creation in the council area, asked the youth to heave a sigh of relieve.
Oseme said the well-being of the people in the locality would be accorded high priority.
Speaking on his victory in Asaba on Thursday, Hon. Oseme said job creation and rural development remain the central theme of his policies.
He said: “Reflecting our strong conviction that deliberate government focus and action is needed to stem the tide of rising unemployment, in three years time, I will improve urbanisation of my local government area so that by the time my tenure is ending, when our people will look at the area in generality, they will be impressed that their community is at the the millennium age of urbanisation.”
While Osene expressed gratitude to the people of the area for the support and their prayer during the electioneering process, he sued for more prayer and cooperation of the communities in the council to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy.
He called on the people of the council area to bring their wealth of experience to bear by teaming up with his all-inclusive administration, adding that his tenure would be characterised by open door policy “where indigenes would be able to advice government”.
He added: “I have keyed into the state’s ‘Delta beyond oil’ policy.”
