The First Republic Minister of Information, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has said President Goodluck Jonathan’s decision on 2015 presidential contest will inform his decision on who succeeds Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in Delta.

The foremost Ijaw leader, also an elder in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared his preference for the President’s second term at different for a.

He has also consistently told anyone who cares to listens that Jonathan must declare or risk being an indigene of Niger Delta region.

The elder statesman asserted at his Kiagbodo home when a leading PDP governorship aspirant in the state, Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege came to consult him on his desire to succeed Governor Uduaghan next year.

While he listed Governor Uduaghan among the mammoth crowd that turned out for a rally organized by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) to drum up support for the re-election of President Jonathan next year in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, he denied the rumour across the state that he had anointed a particular candidate for the race.

He said, “Neither me nor the incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan can anoint or impose any candidate on the PDP or Deltans.

“My support for any candidate will depend on when and what decision President Goodluck Jonathan takes on a second tenure for presidency.”

He said Ribadu succumbed to the looting plot because he was deceived with the governorship seat of Adamawa state.

The foremost Ijaw leader who took exception from how the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Rihadu, was fooled in 2007 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Governor James Ibori into believing that he would emerge as the Governor of Adamawa state on a platter of gold.

He said Ribadu succumbed to the looting of N120 billion, the money he explained, accrued from “the fictitious supplementary budget prepared by Ibori” to deliver late President Musa Yar’Adua at the PDP convention, because he was deceived with the governorship seat.
