Arsenal have completed the loan signing of midfielder Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid, with the 22-year-old moving to London for the 2019-20 season.
Ceballos, who has been on holiday after helping Spain’s Under-21 side to the European Championship title last month, is expected to link up with his new teammates in the coming days.
Ceballos, who joined Madrid from Real Betis in 2017, has opted to go out on loan as he still believes he can make his Real career a success in future.
Tottenham showed late interest in signing the midfielder, but Arsenal’s persistence has paid off and Ceballos will link up with compatriot Unai Emery in north London.
“We were speaking about the possibility to sign one player on loan,” Emery said before the deal was announced. “We had different names. The club was working on that.
“Ceballos is a very good player. I know him from Betis at the beginning and Real Madrid.”
