Business mogul and industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has offered to refurbish the pitch and scoreboard of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The Minister of Youth and Sports development, Sunday Akin Dare, disclosed this via a tweet on Thursday.
Dare tweeted: “Many thanks to Dangote Industries and indeed Alhaji Aliko Dangote for partnering with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to restore the football pitch and score board of the Moshood Abiola National stadium.
“Our Adopt-A-Pitch Campaign program is on course.”
Dare also assured that the Ministry would learned their support to other sports federations in the country.
He wrote on Twitter: “We will work with not just the NFF but other federations to embrace best standards and practices in sports administration. We must exert greater responsibility from those charged with our sports administration. Govt is working on leveraging private funding for sports development.”
Since assuming office, the Minister has embarked on inspection of stadiums and have opened discussion with frontline business men such as Dangote and the Premier Lotto Chairman, Sir Keshinton Adebutu, also known as Baba Ijebu.
