A politician from Katsina State, Mallam Kabir Suleiman Dan-Musa, has congratulated AIG Suleiman Abba on his appointment as the Acting Inspector-General of Police.
Mallam Dan-Musa, in a statement on Monday, said Abba’s emergence as the new police boss was well earned.
He made reference to his track record as an officer with unimpeachable integrity throughout his career thus far.
Dan-Musa, who holds the traditional title of Garkuwan Dan-Musa, said: “I am not surprised that Mr President Goodluck Jonathan has found you worthy of this new task.I believe President Jonathan being a man seeking to transform the country has painstakingly chosen the right man for the job at this period when there is the need to have a good police IG who will guide the Force towards tackling the numerous security challenges.
“I am convinced Suleiman has the intellectual capacity and charisma to provide the much needed leadership in conjunction with heads of other security agencies in a robust inter-agency cooperation to bring an end to the insecurity bedeviling Nigeria.
“I believe Abba is the man for the job and I urge the men of the Nigeria Police Force to give him the necessary support so that very soon,Nigerians will begin to reap the benefits of derivable from the leadership and the rich experience of this man of honour who is now our police boss.
“Though you have been appointed in acting capacity, I believe and pray that very soon, you will be confirmed as the substantive IG.
“I pray that the Almighty Allah will give you the right wisdom as you steer the ship of the Nigeria Police Force henceforth.”
