A five-man committee to investigate allegations of doping rules violation and improper conduct against the Vice President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Olamide George, is to be inaugurated on Tuesday at 1pm in the Conference Room of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, in Abuja.
This follows a petition to the Athletics World Body, IAAF, and the World Anti-Doping Agency by Tafida Gadzama, a member of the AFN board representing the North East.
Gadzama alleged doping violations against George and an athlete Sade Abugan said to have taken place during the Commonwealth Games in India in 2012.
The committee is to interrogate George and Gadzama to establish culpability and the veracity of the allegations.
Meanwhile, George has been suspended from all athletics related activities by the Ministry of Youth and Sports pending completion of its investigation.
Preceding the inauguration is the Signing of the African Union Region 2 Memorandum of Understanding at 11am on March 27, 2018.
