The Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission on Sunday in Calabar, the state capital, released results of 12 of the 18 results in the state local government elections held on September 21.
The CROSIEC Chairman, Patrick Otu, who announced the result, said the Peoples Democratic Party won the chairmanship seats in all the released results from 12 local governments.
“The remaining six local councils are still being awaited and no casualty was recorded during the elections, Otu he said.
Otu listed the remaining six councils to be Yakurr, Boki, Obanliku, Calabar Municipality, Obudu and Yala.
The CROSIEC chairman thanked the security agencies and the people of the state for maintaining peace before, during and after the election.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that four political parties took part in the elections.
These are the PDP, the National Conscience Party, the All Progressive Grand Alliance and the Progressive Peoples Alliance.
