The Commissioner, Delta State Police Command, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered a probe into the death of a man, Emeka Okediachi, during a raid by his operatives on November 14, 2024.
However, the State Police Command has denied being responsible for the death of the citizen during the raid by its operatives.
It said Okediachi reportedly hit head while dodging the police along DBS Road, Asaba, the Delta State capital.
According to the police, the operatives, along Nnebisi Road, reacted to a distress call that men of the underworld were operating along DBS Road.
When they arrived the scene, the operatives sighted a Toyota Venza with registration number: GWK-646-FF.

The occupants of the vehicle sped off on sighting the policemen.
The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, noted that the suspects ran into a compound where the driver was arrested and Okediachi escaped during the chase.
Edafe added: “A few minutes later, right there at the scene, the suspect came out with blood in his head and stated that he hit his head on a wall.
“The police, swiftly, took him to the hospital and paid for his medical bill.
“At about 5am, of the same date, the deceased was brought to the Police headquarters, where statements were recorded and the deceased stated in his statement that he hit his head on a wall fence while running away from the Police.”
