The Federal Government on Wednesday confirmed the arrival of 292 Nigerians stranded in Saudi Arabia as result of the Coronavirus Disease.
The Nigerians were evacuated by the Saudi Arabia Government.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, made this known through verified Twitter handle in the early hours of Wednesday.
Onyeama said the stranded Nigerians arrived on Tuesday via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and would be quarantined for the mandatory 14 days to establish their COVID-19 status.
He tweeted: “We received 292 evacuees stranded in Saudi Arabia yesterday.
“The Saudi Government transported them to Abuja.
“A large number are nursing mothers and children and they are all comfortably settled in hotels under the mandatory 14 days quarantine.”
