An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Thursday sentenced a 22-year-old sales representative, Dolapo Mohammed, to six months in a Correctional Centre for stealing his employer’s N235,000.
The Magistrate, A.O.Adeyemi, sentenced Mohammed after he pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing.
Adeyemi, however, gave Mohammed an option to pay N50,000 as fine.
She also ordered him to pay the N235,000 back to his employer.
Earlier, Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 5 at TB Link Multi Venture, beside D-Man Hotel, Oloko, Ota.
Adaraloye said the defendant stole the N235,000 from the Lotto sales belonging to the complainant, Salami Bolarinwa.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 390 of Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006.
