A Magistrates’ Court in Ile-Ife on Thursday remanded two men at the Ile-Ife Correctional Centre for alleged murder.
The defendants are: Ishola Hassan, 23 and Saka Moshood, 48.
The prosecutor, Insp Elijah Adesina, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Feb. 27, 2021 at about 3:30 pm at Oke-Ora Village, via Ile-Ife.
Adesina alleged that the defendants conspired to commit felony to wit: murder, attempted murder, grievous harm and breach of peace.
He told the court that the defendants allegedly unlawfully killed one Segun Awotunde with a gun.
He further alleged that the defendants injured Opeyemi Rabiu and Adesoji Yinka on their head and left thigh, respectively, when they fired their guns at them.
Adesina said that the defendants also allegedly conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace when they invaded and terrorised the people of Oke-Ora Village.
The pleas of the defendants were not taken.
Magistrate A. A. Adebayo refused to grant the defendants bail but ordered their remand at the Ile-Ife correctional centre.
Adebayo asked the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
He adjourned the case until March 18, for mention.
