A Lugbe Grade I Area Court, Abuja on Wednesday ordered that two brothers, who pleaded guilty to stealing a businessman’s car, be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre, pending sentence.
The police charged Ifeanyi Nweze, 23, and Tochukwu, with joint act, criminal breach of trust and theft.
The Judge, Mohammed Sirajo, adjourned the matter until April 6 for sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Tosin Ojaomo, told the court that the complainant, Folasade Olapade, on March 22 took her car, a corolla 2004 model, to the car wash on Piyakasa Road, where the defendants work as handymen.
Ojaomo alleged that the defendants stole the complainant’s car.
The prosecutor told the court that police operatives on March 26 arrested the defendants at Giri Junction.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 79, 312 and 287 of the Penal Code.
