The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered that a former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, and his son, Abdulaziz, be remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission pending the hearing of their bail application.
Nyako and Abdulaziz were arraigned by the EFCC before the court on Wednesday for money laundering.
They will be in the custody of the EFCC until Friday when the court will hear their bail application.
Nyako’s counsel, Kanu Agabi (SAN), had pleaded with the court for time to familiarise himself with the charges.
Nyako was arraigned before Justice Evoh Chukwu on a 37 count charge.
They have pleaded not guilty to 17 of the charges.
