An Osogbo, Osun State Senior Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered the remand of a 22-year-old bricklayer, Moyinoluwa Tosin, for allegedly abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Solomon Oladele, had told the court that the accused and others now at large, conspired and committed the offence on June 3, at about 11.30pm at 8, Egbatedo Street, Osogbo.
Oladele said the accused with the others committed felony by abduction when they took a minor into their custody.
He said that in addition to that, they indecently assaulted and later defiled the girl, thereby causing her to be admitted at the hospital for treatment for four days.
The plea of the accused was, however, not taken and the Senior Magistrate, Olusola Aluko, ordered that the accused be remanded in the Ilesha Prison.
Aluko, however, instructed the counsel to the accused, Daniel Agbara, to file a formal bail application on behalf of his client.
The case was adjourned to June 26 for mention.
