A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a petition seeking to nullify the election of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Barrister Godswill Akpabio.
The petitioner, Frank Okon, had approached the court challenging the election of Akpabio because he was excluded from the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party that produced the governor.
But the Judge, Justice Abdul Kafarati, dismissed the petition.
Justice Kafarati said Okon had no locus in the matter.
Okon had complained to the court that his exclusion from the primaries breached his fundamental human rights.
